Extracts from Minutes 6th August 2008

The Chairman Martin Willey advised had written to Chambourcy confirming the dates of the visit to Lutterworth – 1^st to 4^th May 2009 and thanked them for their hospitality during the visit to Chambourcy this year.

Kay Wilson and Jane Clark will be discussing organising French conversation lessons. 

A possible link between the Tennis Clubs in Lutterworth and Chambourcy is to be pursued.

The possibility of organising a Youth Visit to Chambourcy in July 2009 is to be pursued, subject to agreement in Chambourcy and in Lutterworth.

There had been good progress on School Contacts. Chambourcy has the same three sections of education as in Lutterworth.  Martin Willey was very pleased to report that contact had been made across all sections with Lutterworth College, Lutterworth High School, Lutterworth Sherrier and Gilmorton Chandler all in contact with French schools.

Martin Willey and Cllr Ken Seymour are to form a sub committee to advance the possibilities of business exchanges as part of the twinning link.

Thanks were expressed to Trevor and Mary Wood for hosting the BBQ at their home.

Quiz Night at the Fox Inn on Friday 10^th October further details to follow.

A social event to be organised to coincide with the AGM in February 2009.

Treasure Hunt to be arranged for the Sunday morning of the 2009 Twinning weekend ending up at the Fox Inn for a late lunch.

A newsletter will shortly be sent to all members.
